Kimberly Mayo Petty is thankful to everyone who has kept Mom lifted in prayer. She's been having some pain so they're having a scan next week to make sure this new chemo is the right one. I know that God is a healer, and I claim the victory for Mom. However, it is nice to hear the prayers of other believers. If you can post a prayer today, I'll pass it along to Mom and Daddy. Thanks.

Dear Lord, I come to you today to hold up our dear Regina,Help her to stand what you feel she must endure for this season in her life. Help us, her family and friends and care givers to be strong and be there for her and her family. Let us not whine and whimper over things we have no control over. And give us the best response when we're pushed pushed beyond our limits. We know that when we can’t pray, You listen to our hearts. Continue to use us to do Your will. Continue to bless us that we may be a blessing to others.
Keep us strong that we may help the weak. .. Keep us uplifted that we may have words of encouragement for others. These and all things we ask in the name of your Son Jesus, our Savior, and our Redeemer, for His sake. Amen.

Kim, I had no idea your mom "had" cancer but I pray in the name of Jesus that by his stripes she is healed. Lord, I pray that you would lay your healing hands upon where Mrs. Mayo has pain and bring her comfort. I plead your blood from the top of her head to the soles of her feet Lord Jesus. We claim the victory through this test of faith Lord. Father God, we stand on your word and we thank you in advance for what you have done, and what you are doing, and what you are about to do Lord. Jesus I pray that you make your presence known through these trying times and bring comfort to the entire family and their friends. Let them know that you still reign on the throne of heaven seated at the right hand of the Father and that when prayers go up…blessings come down. We ask that you continue to annoint the minds, hearts and hands of the physicians responsible for her care and we pray that your will be done. In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus I pray…AMEN.

I want to look at the lame excuses we often use to try to cover up or justify ourselves. I often think of a prayer I read in a wonderful little book called A Dairy of Private Prayer, that simply says, "Make me willing to make the same excuses for others that I make for myself." That
convicted me because I realized how easily I excuse myself, but how often I refuse to let others off the hook.
Here is one of our lame excuses: That's just the way I am!
How often have you heard someone excuse their poor behavior or their bad habits with this lame excuse? For example, I think of a person who shoots off her mouth indiscriminately, not thinking before she speaks, using words with careless abandon, and harming people in the process. She
obviously recognizes that this is not the way she should speak, yet she lets herself off the hook by declaring, "That's just the way I am!" Another version of that is, "I call 'em like I see 'em." Or "I speak my mind."
Proverbs 18:21 says that, The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who live it will eat its fruit. Every time we open our mouth, we are using a powerful instrument that can do great good, or used inappropriately, can inflict great harm. Whoever said, "Sticks and stones
may break my bones, but words will never hurt me," simply wasn't giving you the whole truth. Words can and do hurt, and the hurt can go deeper than physical blows.
You've heard people excuse bad habits this way. For example, someone who is habitually late to everything, inconveniencing others and wasting their time, and then they say, "Sorry, but I'm always late. Just the way I am!" They try to make it seem inconsequential, no big deal, by excusing themselves with That's just the way I am!
The way we are in our old natures is not the way Jesus wants us to be. He wants us as Christians to grow into his likeness with ever increasing glory, so instead of using lame excuses to let ourselves off the hook, we need to make these areas a focus of prayer, asking God to change
us. Because the way we are is not the way God wants us to be. So, don't use that lame excuse anymore-That's just the way I am! It doesn't fly with God, and people don't like it too well, either.

We wanted to thank you for your continued prayers and give you an update on Mom. She received the results of her latest PT scan a couple of weeks ago. After the first PT scan, we learned that there were tumours in her vaginal area, stomach, lungs and liver. After this most recent scan, we learned that her vaginal area is clean of cancer. (Praise the Lord)! We learned that her stomach is free of cancer. (Praise the Lord)!
Between her lungs and her liver, she only has three spots with malignant activity. Of those three, the largest is 2 1/2 cm! (Praise the Lord). She is in very high spirits and has begun walking in her treadmill again. She has four weeks left out of a six week break before she resumes chemotherapy. We are believing that, during this time, the cancer shrink!
We know that our Lord is a healer!! We are sharing this testimony everywhere that we go!!! Thank you for your continued prayers and messages. She reads them all and they bless her and daddy greatly. The Lord said that when we unite in faith, great things happen. Praise the Lord!!!!

Hi. I just wanted to give you a quick update on Mom. She has finished her
radiation and only has a few chemo treatments left. God is really blessing
her, and she is doing well. With her first chemo treatment, she was so weak
that she could hardly even eat. Now, she has a treatment and it barely
affects her. In fact, she had a treatment on a Wednesday and on that Friday,
she was here in Atlanta to celebrate Hailey's birthday with us. She went to
the party, and we even went shopping. I just want to praise the Lord for His
goodness. I praise Him for you and your prayers. I praise Him for my family,
and the way that everyone is pulling together. I have always loved my
family, but to see aunts and cousins and everyone coming together to cook,
clean, pray and offer a kind word, it REALLY does my heart good. And more
importantly, it does Mom good. She feels the prayers. She feels the love.
She sees God in everything that is done and said for her, and that is so
important. On Friday, she had a scan, so that they can measure the malignant
cells that are still in her body. She finds out the results tomorrow
afternoon. We know that our God is a healer, and we fully expect a good
report. I praise His holy name, and I ask that, as you pray, you continue to
claim the victory for Mom.
Thank you so much.
In His Love,

Stand on this...The Full Armor of God

From Joel Osteen Daily email...
*The Armor of God*
*TODAY'S SCRIPTURE*
_"Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all
strategies of the devil. For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies,
but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers
in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places"_
*(Ephesians 6:11-12, NLT)*
**TODAY'S WORD* from Joel and Victoria*
God has equipped us to stand and fight every battle we will face in life. The Bible
tells us in Ephesians chapter 6 that we are to put on the whole armor of
God—everything that He has equipped us with. The armor tells a lot about how we are
to fight our battles. If you study the armor of God, you’ll find that it only
mentions things that cover the front of us. It talks about wearing the breastplate
of righteousness which covers our chest, our heart. It talks about having our loins
girt about with truth; it tells us to put on the helmet of salvation, and to protect
our steps with the shoes of peace. Then it mentions the shield of faith and the
sword of the Spirit.
But notice, interestingly enough, not one piece of that armor covers our back. Why
is that? It’s because God never intended for us to be running from the enemy. If
you’re running from adversity, then you’re leaving yourself wide open to the enemy.
But if you’ll put on the whole armor of God and stand on His Word, you’ll move
forward into the victory God has already prepared for you!
*A PRAYER FOR TODAY*
Father in heaven, thank You for equipping me to overcome every challenge and
obstacle I will ever face in life. I choose to put on the whole armor so that I can
stand in victory the way You intend. I bless You always. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

The steps of the godly are directed by the Lord. He delights in every detail of their lives.
Though they stumble, they will not fall for the Lord holds them by the hand.
Once I was young and now I am old. Yet I have never seen the godly foresaken, not seen their children begging for bread.
Psalm 37: 23-25

As God’s children, we are given His favor as a special gift. But the favor of God isnot about us; it’s about His grace and desire to bless His children for theirfaithfulness and obedience. He’s a good and loving Father, and He’s ALWAYS lookingfor ways to show us His love.God’s heart is so big, and He’s filled with so much good that He doesn’t have totake favor away from one person to give it to someone else.
**There’s no limit to God’s favor in your life.**But remember this…living in the favor of God doesn’t mean you won’t have setbacks ordifficulties. It doesn’t mean that you won’t have to persevere, press on or keephope alive through hard times.

Just sharing

A holy man was having a conversation with the Lord one day and said, 'Lord, I would like to know what Heaven and Hell are like.'

The Lord led the holy man to two doors.

He opened one of the doors and the holy man looked in.

In the middle of the room was a large round table..

In the middle of the table was a large pot of stew,

which smelled delicious and made the holy man's mouth water.

The people sitting around the table were thin and sickly.

They appeared to be famished. They were holding spoons with very long handles that were strapped to their arms and each found it possible to reach into the pot of stew and take a spoonful.

But because the handle was longer than their arms,

they could not get the spoons back into their mouths.

The holy man shuddered at the sight of their misery and suffering.

The Lord said, 'You have seen Hell. They went to the next room and opened the door. It was exactly the same as the first one...

There was the large round table with the large pot of stew which made the holy man's mouth water.

The people were equipped with the same long-handled spoons, but here the people were well nourished and plump, laughing and talking.

The holy man said, 'I don't understand.

'It is simple,' said the Lord. 'It requires but one skill.

You see, they have learned to feed each other.

The greedy think only of themselves.'

When Jesus died on the cross, he was thinking of you.

Remember that Jesus will always share his

spoon with you...

Good morning. We are going to be praying for Mom again this evening at 8:30 pm EST. The Lord is already doing a marvelous work. You can even hear it in her voice over the phone. We are going to do these prayers every Monday night, as long as we have prayer warriors ready to stand with us. On that note, thank you for all of the prayers that you have already sent up, and your words of encouragement. They really mean so much.
Tonight, we are praising Him for the fact that she is feeling stronger. We are asking Him to bless the hands, minds and hearts of all of her doctors, that His healing power flow through them and we are praying for Daddy, that he be lifted up, stregthened and encouraged as he goes through this with Mom. Please pray any other prayers that you are lead to pray. Also, please feel free to pass this along to other prayer warriors.
Thank you so much. If you are able to make it, I will meet you in the prayer room tonight at 8:30 EST. :)
Have a wonderfully blessed day!
In His Love,
Kim

Well, Harlyn and I are back home now. The time in KY flew by. It seemed like it took me longer to drive there and back, than the time that I was there. When we arrived on Sunday evening, Mom was really weak, and a little sad. We talked and prayed. She cried, and I felt like it, but didn't. I held her and prayed a prayer of healing and peace. On Monday, we went to her radiation treatment (which has begun again). When we finally made it back home, I went to the grocery store to buy some organic food to replace what was already there. We are doing away with red meat and artificial sweetners. I just heard that pork isn't good either, so I will have to tell her about that next. Anyway, what I really wanted to write about was the prayer on Monday night. Praise the Lord! You could feel the Lord moving. I was a little nervous because I had never laid hands on anyone before. I prayed for the Lord to use me and flow through me. I prayed over the oil. At 8:25, Mom was calling to me to come on, so that we could pray! I prayed and, like I said, I could feel the Lord. I believe that Mom did too. It was emotional, but later, her eyes were bright and her mood was better. She got increasingly stronger from that point. Even though we had to spend most of Tuesday in the emergency room because her breathing was labored, she was in great spirits. In fact, Mom didn't even want to be there. By the time I left yesterday at 4:00, she seemed like her old self. Her voice is stronger and she believes that she has the victory. We claim it and stand on it. We are continuing to pray that she endures the chemo well, and can't wait until we can let you all know that she is in remission. Thank you for praying with us on Monday night. My aunt has suggested that we pray every Monday evening at 8:30. We will keep you posted on that. God is good, Prayer Warriors!

Mrs. Mayo had a radiation treatmenttoday. Kim and our 8 month old, Harlyn, are in Kentucky for a few days to be with her.
Mrs. Mayo is upbeat but very tired. We are all very thankful for God's grace and mercy. We are also very grateful for all the prayers that have been sent in! We are so glad! God is good and GREAT!
We are having a healing prayer tonight at 8:30pm. We are asking all those who see this message to stop whereever you are and pray at 8:30pm for Mrs. Mayo's healing.
Scripture for today:Isaiah 49:15-16
"Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have > no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you! See, I have engraved you on the palm of my hands; your walls are ever before me."

Kim's mother Regenia was diagnosed with Cervical Cancer a few months back. She had a procedure that was supposed to have eliminated all the cancer cells. The doctors wanted to do radiation to make sure that all traces were gone. So she did that. However, just recently the doctors did some tests and found that the cancer has spread to her liver and lungs. She is about to start chemotherapy.
Now that's the world view. We know that God is the ultimate doctor, the ultimate healer. He can do what no man can. So through this blog and in our everyday lives, we are praying. We are praying that the cancer cells dissapar. That through this chemotherapy, Mrs. Mayo becomes healther and healthier. We claim the victory in Jesus' name. We love her. We love the lord and the bible tells us to pray without ceasing. And that's what we are going to do!
We invite you to pray with us, to pray for Mrs. Mayo and her family. To pray for any loved ones that you may have that have been diagnosed with Cancer.
We claim the victory for these folks as well.
Please post comments in the form of prayers.
